Registration Guide
This tool will walk you through the registration process. For more information about each of the options, check out the How to Register? section on the Participation page.

Create a Caribou Coordinator account
It is free to register for a Caribou Coordinator account. A Caribou Coordinator is any educator (teacher, librarian, home schooling parent, tutor) who organizes the contests for their student(s).
Once the account is activated, read the Contest Coordinator Instructions which will guide you in getting Access Codes for your students.
If your school is not already on the List of Participating Schools, you can add it while setting up your account.

- Add your home school as a new school, do not join an unknown home school.
- Register your home school under its name or use a name like "Home School - [your initials]".
- For school board, put "Homeschool" or "None", and other information as prompted.
- Enter a real, valid address. We need this for student ranking and to mail prizes.
- Once your school is added to the list, return to Coordinator registration and select your school.
- Home schools groups registered as a single school may purchase School Wide products within the limit of 40 participating families.
Do you have a Voucher Code?
A Voucher Code is a 10-character code eg. 2020W4P17I. It is not the same thing as an Access Code, which has 12 characters.

Sign in to your Student account with your Access Code to check its validity.
On the Student Homepage, in the table My Account Information the line 'Caribou Mathematics Cup Validity' indicates whether you are registered for the full Caribou Cup. You can also click on 'View Purchases' to see purchases linked to this Access Code.
Your Caribou Coordinator (contest organizer) can also see if your code is valid for the entire year on their account under Manage & Print Access Codes.

If you have an Access Code, and it is full-year-valid, then you're all set to participate in all the upcoming contests in this Caribou Cup!
Students do not need to register for individual contests, they simply sign in on a Contest Day within their school's Contest Time Window to write the contest.

Is the School paying for Contest Participation?
An Access Code that is not full-year-valid can only be used to prepare for and participate in the free October contest.
To convert your Access Code to be valid for the entire year, a purchase is necessary to make the Access Code valid for the full Caribou Cup year.

Your School must make a purchase
If a student's school is paying for Contest Participation, then the student's Caribou Coordinator (teacher organizing the contests) is responsible for making sure their Access Code is valid.
You can see purchases made by your School when signed in on the page View Purchases.
You can purchase extra math learning content for practice in the Online Shop.

If your school is not paying for participation, then you need to make a purchase in the Online Shop.
Enter your Access Code when prompted, then select either Grade X/Y Contest Participation or Individual All-Inclusive with Grade X/Y Contest Participation.
Please note, the student's Caribou Coordinator must have enabled Third Party Payments in their account settings.

If you are not sure whether your school will pay for participation, contact your teacher or school administration.
You can see the name of the school's Caribou Coordinator (contest organizer) on the Student Homepage under 'My Account Information'.

You need a valid Access Code to participate in the contests. How you get it depends on how you will participate.
With an Institution (eg. school, library, tutoring centre) Without an Institution (eg. homeschool, distance learning, no school)Get in touch with your Caribou Coordinator
If you will be participating with your school, then your Caribou Coordinator (teacher/administrator organizing the contests) is responsible for distributing Access Codes and making sure they are valid.
Your Caribou Coordinator can tell you whether the school covers the cost of participation, or whether the fees are paid by parents.
If you are not sure whether your school is participating, check the List of Participating Schools. If you prefer to participate in a school setting, or you do not have sufficient internet or internet-connected devices at home, you could request permission to participate at a local institution accepting outside participants.
If your school will not organize the contests, you can also participate at home, without an institution (click on the button above).

There are two ways to register without an institution:
1) register with the Caribou Virtual School (recommended), or 2) set up a Home School (only useful if you have ≥ 4 students)

Register with the Caribou Virtual School
To register with the Caribou Virtual School, go to the Online Shop, sign in as Someone Else, select Grade X/Y Contest Participation or Individual All Inclusive Grade X/Y Contest Participation, and when prompted to select your school, tick the box "This student has no school".
When payment is processed you will receive an email confirmation containing your Access Code.
With a valid Access Code, you are registered to participate in all the contests in this Caribou Cup.
Students with the Caribou Virtual School can start the contest any time on either contest day until 18:30 EST.
